Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the JAOS Browser Extension (“the extension”) uses, why, and the choices you have. The extension works with your JAOS account at jaos.ai to help you fill in job application forms.

Information the extension uses

• Sign-in information. When you sign in to JAOS, the extension keeps the sign-in tokens for your JAOS account in your browser so it can make requests to JAOS on your behalf. It never sees or stores your password.
• Your JAOS profile. To fill in forms, the extension retrieves the profile saved in your JAOS account, such as your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, links, work authorization and preferences, and any optional details you chose to add (for example, voluntary equal-opportunity answers). Changes you make in the extension’s “My Profile” tab are saved to your JAOS account.
• Your résumé. The extension downloads the résumé you select, or the tailored résumé JAOS prepared for a job, and attaches it to the application form.
• Application forms. When you click Autofill, the extension reads the form on that page, such as field labels, available options and any values already entered. It does not read or fill password fields.
• Job listings on Indeed and LinkedIn. On those sites’ job search pages, the extension sends the company name and job title of the listings shown to JAOS, to display JAOS information about those jobs.
• Application tracking. When you click Apply on JAOS, the JAOS website tells the extension which job and résumé you chose. If you started an application from JAOS, the extension tells JAOS when you close a browser tab while that application is in progress, so JAOS can ask whether you submitted it.
• Diagnostics. The extension may send limited technical events to JAOS, such as whether an autofill completed or failed, together with the extension version, the website’s address (domain only), counts and error codes. These events are linked to your JAOS account. They never include form values, résumé content, passwords or sign-in tokens.

How the information is used

• To sign you in and connect the extension to your JAOS account.
• To fill in application forms with your profile and attach your résumé. To decide which details belong in which field, the form’s field information and the relevant parts of your profile are processed on JAOS servers, including by an AI model. Your date of birth and any partial government ID number you may have saved are excluded from this processing.
• To show JAOS job information and keep track of your applications.
• To find and fix problems with the extension.

The extension does not submit applications for you. You review the form and submit it yourself. When you submit, the information in that form goes to the employer’s website, and that website’s own privacy policy applies.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We use the information described here only to provide, maintain and improve the extension’s features. It is processed by the service providers that host JAOS: JAOS runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS), sign-in uses Amazon Cognito, and the AI model used for form filling runs on Amazon Bedrock.

Where information is stored

• In your browser: your sign-in tokens, a copy of your profile (so the panel loads quickly), your selected résumé and your settings. Signing out removes the sign-in tokens and the copy of your profile. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored in your browser.
• On JAOS servers: your JAOS account, profile and résumés. Diagnostic events are kept for a limited period.

Security

All communication between the extension and JAOS uses HTTPS, and your JAOS data can only be accessed with your signed-in account. Diagnostic events are filtered to remove sensitive values before they leave your browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices

• View and edit your profile in the extension’s “My Profile” tab or on jaos.ai.
• Sign out of the extension at any time.
• Uninstall the extension to remove the data it stored in your browser.
• Delete your JAOS account from your account settings on jaos.ai.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the extension changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
